Research has shown how integrative care supports adherence to treatments for breast cancer patients. Sue Weldon discovered that for herself when she was fighting the disease. She has met so many women not fortunate enough to have access to the therapies due to cost. Determined to make a difference, Ms. Weldon founded Unite for HER, a nonprofit that provides resources and access to integrative care at no cost to the patient. When the COVID pandemic hit, it was even harder for patients to access care. Through providing care options virtually and in patient homes, Unite for HER was able to ramp up and now delivers services to over 5300 patients annually, up from 1700 pre-pandemic, and the innovation the team used has saved valuable time for patients as well. Speaker Sue Weldon, 2021 AstraZeneca Catalyst for Care Award winner will share her journey.
