Description
Clinical trials don’t just involve participants; they engage entire support networks. This session explores the critical role of families and caregivers in supporting trial participation, particularly in sensitive populations such as pediatrics and individuals with cognitive impairments like Alzheimer’s. Through real-world examples and discussion, attendees will learn strategies to meaningfully engage caregivers, improve communication, and design trials that consider the needs of both participants and their support systems. Because when we support the village, we support the participant.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the unique needs and considerations of engaging families and caregivers in pediatric and Alzheimer’s clinical trials.
- Identify practical strategies to improve communication and collaboration with participant support networks.
- Explore protocol and operational adjustments that can enhance caregiver involvement and participant retention.
