Michael is an attorney in the Life Sciences practice group in the Office of General Counsel at Moffitt Cancer Center. His practice areas include clinical trial agreements, research and regulatory compliance, research misconduct, sponsored research agreements, conflicts of interest,  corporate compliance and ethics. Prior to joining Moffitt, Michael provided counsel to academic and business leadership on a broad range of legal and compliance issues and oversaw sponsored research and contractual operations for several academic research institutions, including the Research Foundation for the State University of New York, Emory University, Georgetown University, Florida State University College of Medicine and Northern Arizona University.

Michael earned his doctorate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Texas A&M University School of Law, and his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of the District of Columbia School of Law. He also earmed a master’s degree from California State University, Fullerton, and a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, with Distinction-In-Major from Temple University. Michael also has a graduate certificate in Risk Management and Compliance from Texas A&M University School of Law and served as a graduate Fellow with the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law, and past Fellow in the Executive Leadership Academy with the Center for Studies in Higher Education and teh Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley. Michael also holds certifications in healthcare research compliance and corporate compliance and ethics from the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) and the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE).
