A casual promise that "the study will cover all costs" can create an obligation the site cannot fund and the sponsor never budgeted. This session examines how language in consent forms, budgets, contracts, and participant-facing materials translates directly into billing compliance risk. We will walk through real examples of well-intentioned wording that created downstream exposure, and discuss how to align consent language, coverage analysis, and the negotiated budget so they tell the same story.
