Andrea M. Arruda is a Senior Clinical Research Associate and the Founder and Principal Consultant of pharmaDev Consulting LLC, a clinical research training and consulting practice based in Houston, Texas.

With 28 years across drug and device research spanning Phases I through IV and more than 12 therapeutic areas, Andrea has worked every side of the table: site-level roles including Clinical Research Coordinator and Clinic Director, and CRO and sponsor-side monitoring at organizations including Quintiles, Syneos Health, Pfizer, AbbVie, and PAREXEL. She has contributed to three FDA-approved programs: Celebrex®, Abilify®, and Cobenfy®.

Her methodology, The Monitoring Lens™, focuses on what ICH E6(R3) looks like in practice at the site level rather than in principle. She is a 2027 ACRP conference speaker on principal investigator oversight.
