Joe is the Sr Director of Research Administration, Development, & Billing Integrity within the Corewell Health Research Institute, at Corewell Health. He has been with Corewell Health and in research for nearly 15 years. Most recently, his role and oversight has expanded from one large integrated health system (formerly Spectrum Health), to an even larger state-wide integrated health system across Michigan. He has experience in and is responsible for a multitude of areas: all stages of project and trial start up from site feasibility and qualification through sponsored programs budget development for both industry and non-industry, sponsored programs contracting, the patient billing compliance lifecycle which includes improved processing times and payer success, the Medicare coverage analysis process, EMR implementation for research, revenue cycle oversight for research, CTMS software usage and implementation, multi-organization research operations/administration integration, and capital planning and forecasting for sponsored programs.
