Linda Coleman, JD, CIP, CHC, CHRC, CCEP-I

Linda Coleman is the Associate Vice Provost for Research Policy & Integrity at Stanford University, where she leads university-wide research compliance and policy initiatives, overseeing areas such as research security, export controls, global engagement review, conflict of interest, conflict of commitment, data governance and privacy, and responsible and ethical conduct of research. In her role, she develops and implements strategies to manage compliance risks, strengthen research programs, and ensure adherence to evolving regulatory requirements, collaborating closely with university leadership and research departments to foster a robust and compliant research environment consistent with Stanford’s research mission. 

Prior to Stanford, Ms. Coleman was Director of the Human Research Protection Program.  In this capacity, Ms. Coleman as responsible for the oversight and administration of Yale’s comprehensive Human Research Protection Program and oversees the Institutional Review Board and several non-IRB committees such as the Radiation Drug Research Committee, Radiation Drug Investigation Committee, Institutional Conflict of Interest Committee (in collaboration with the Conflict of Interest office), and Embryonic Stem Cell Research Oversight Committee. She also served on several Yale committees and working groups including the Investigator Conflict of Interest Committee, Institutional Biological Committee/Human Gene Transfer Subcommittee, Clinical and Translational Research Oversight Committee, Data Safety Monitoring Committee, Cancer Center Clinical Trials Advisory Committee, Data Privacy Advisory Council, and the Yale University/Yale New Haven Health System Health Data Governance Council.

Before her tenure at Yale, Ms. Coleman held progressive positions at Quorum Review (now part of Advarra), an independent IRB and consulting organization serving institutional, independent, and international research sites. She served as Vice President of Legal & Regulatory Affairs in 2016 (Kinetiq), Director of Regulatory Affairs & General Counsel from 2011 to 2016 (Quorum), and Director of Regulatory Affairs from 2007 to 2011 (Quorum). Earlier in her career, Ms. Coleman worked as an Attorney at Bennett, Bigelow & Leedom, specializing in health and employment law.
