Max Lawson is head of Digital Process Innovation and AI in Drug Development at Novartis, a leading global pharmaceutical company. He is responsible for driving innovation, digital transformation and the AI strategy across the drug development lifecycle. He joined Novartis in 2009 and has held various business transformation roles across commercial and development, in both vaccines and innovative medicines. He holds an MBA from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. He is based in Basel, Switzerland where he enjoys spending time in the alps with his wife and three daughters hiking, trail running and skiing.
